EthyAbsorb

Ethylene gas is naturally occurring and is produced when organic matter ripens. The higher the concentration of gas, the faster the rate of ripening, even to the point of decomposition. EthyAbsorb filters passively scrub the atmosphere around them of the Ethylene gas, meaning that fruit, vegetables, flowers, or any organic product stays fresher for much, much longer. In a sealed environment, like a cool room or sealed store where you are able to control the airflow within the environment, it is even possible to ‘halt’ or control precisely the ripening period.

EthyAbsorb is a passive, non-toxic device, requiring no power source. It can be used straight from its protective packet, or more effectively it can be mounted in front of recirculating ducts to take Ethylene out of the storage atmosphere. We can supply webbing strap hangers to enable simple installation to your existing ductwork, lowering your setup costs and keeping your products fresher, for longer.

Proudly made in the UK for over 40 years, we have supplied the Defence industry, Maritime petrochemical and many major global shipping lines with proven reliable gas filtration systems that require no maintenance. When fresh, the filter media is a bright purple, when exhausted the filters are a dark black. At that point, you simply replace them with a new filter.

Previously marketed under the ‘Ethysorb’ tradename (all rights observed), the filters technical and safety documents can be found under the headings at the top of this page.

With applications ranging from food storage or the floral trade to gas processing, the usage of these filters is widespread and fitment solutions can be tailored to your requirements. Because of its passive application method, it is particularly suitable for locations where power supply is unstable, such as conflict zones or areas prone to loadshedding or power outages, or the power supply is just too expensive.

Adding these filters to your refrigerated store facilities acts both as a critical failure backup, removing Ethylene even in the event of total plant failure, as well as allowing power saving by reducing the amount of refrigeration required to halt the ripening process. Passing the recirculated air across the filters will complement the refrigeration process in controlling the product ripening. This allows you to save on the cost of power by reducing the time that the
refrigeration plant has to run.
